Buenos Aires, January 12 (NA) — Racing officially confirmed the arrival of Matko Miljevic, who has become the club's new player and will wear the iconic number 10 jersey. The transfer, which seemed to be on track but became tense in recent days due to payment terms, was finalized after a definitive agreement with Huracán, as reported by the Argentine News Agency. The deal nearly fell through on Friday night when Racing intended to pay three million dollars for the 80% of the pass in 16 installments. However, a direct contact between the managements redirected the negotiations. Although no official figures were released, it was revealed that the transfer was completed in six payments, which allowed the arrival of the midfielder to be unblocked. The stance of Miljevic himself was also crucial, as he pushed hard to wear the 'Academy' jersey. The 24-year-old midfielder said goodbye to the 'Globo' squad and rejected offers from abroad, seduced by Racing's sporting showcase and the opportunity to grow at a top club. Born in Miami, the player debuted for the senior United States national team in 2025 and aims to consolidate himself in a key year. Thus, Miljevic became Racing's second reinforcement of the transfer market under coach Gustavo Costas, following the arrival of Valentín Carboni. After passing the medical examination, he signed a contract until December 2029 and will travel to Ciudad del Este to join the preseason.
